Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

This is an exciting 13-week travel contract opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) in Rochester, New York. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, compassionate patient care within an acute care hospital setting, contributing to a multidisciplinary team focused on positive patient outcomes.

The role involves managing a diverse patient population, executing comprehensive nursing assessments, implementing care plans, and collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals. This position offers a chance to experience a new environment while utilizing your expert clinical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, interpret data, and report changes in patient condition to the appropriate medical staff.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records (EHR) documentation.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York, or a compact license with eligibility for New York endorsement.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent acute care RN experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably Epic.
  • Specialty certification relevant to acute care (e.g., PCCN, CCRN).
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in medication administration, IV insertion, and wound care.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot medical equipment (e.g., IV pumps, cardiac monitors).
