Registered Nurse - Oncology (Radiation Oncology)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Radiation Oncology team in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This role is crucial in providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy and chemotherapy treatments.

The successful candidate will work within a dynamic outpatient setting, focusing on direct patient care, symptom management, patient education, and the safe administration of chemotherapy. Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy and other oncology-related medications safely and accurately, adhering to established protocols.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, including assessment, monitoring, and management of treatment-related side effects.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, potential side effects, self-care strategies, and medication management.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, documenting all aspects of care, assessments, and interventions.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, assess pain levels, and manage symptoms proactively.
Required Qualifications
  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent, direct experience in oncology or radiation oncology.
  • Current Chemotherapy Administration Certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to work specified holidays as required by the facility.
  • Must not reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility located at 1000 Medical Center Boulevard, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046.
