Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level II/III NICU position requiring EPIC EMR experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Level II/III NICU setting in a hospital environment
  • Cares for neonates 22 weeks gestation and greater with complex diagnoses including HIE, RDS, sepsis, abdominal wall defects, and drug exposure/withdrawal
  • Uses specialized equipment including Artic Sun cooling systems, HFOV, Jet Ventilator, Draeger Ventilator, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, and dual incubators
  • Performs special procedures such as full body cooling, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and Avastin administration/laser eye surgery
  • Uses Pyxis/Omnicell for medication management
  • EPIC EMR system used, minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts (1900-0730) with no call, or 3x12 shifts with bi-weekly call requirement
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Floating to other NICU units or facilities required based on census needs

Requirements

  • Active RN license, SC or compact license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the field required
  • NICU II and III experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience required
  • Experience with patient ratio of 1:2
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
  • Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) and oscillators
  • Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) and VP shunt management
  • Experience with NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and post-abdominal surgery care
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care for critically ill neonates including surgical repair of anomalies (excluding cardiac)
  • Manage complex respiratory support including nitric oxide, Vapotherm, and chest tube care
  • Support families through developmental care, breastfeeding support, and patient/family teaching
  • Perform neonatal abstinence syndrome and seizure disorder management
  • Conduct APGAR scoring and thermoregulation care
  • Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements
  • Pre-assignment testing and modules required to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Travelers must be greater than 100 miles from every Prisma facility to be eligible, regardless of applying location
