Description

American Traveler is seeking a Level IV NICU RN with 2+ years of neonatal ICU experience for a Level I trauma facility requiring NRP and float readiness to PICU and PEDS.

Details

• Level IV NICU unit accredited by the American Academy of Pediatrics within an acute care, Level 1 trauma facility
• 40-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 for critical/intermediate infants and 3:1 for growing/feeding infants
• 12-hour day/night rotating shifts including every other weekend
• Float requirement to PICU and PEDS units
• Uses Epic (OneChart) charting system
• Utilizes conventional ventilators (Draeger), high frequency jet and oscillator ventilators, nitric oxide, cool cap therapy, MedFusion and Smart pumps, Spacelab monitors, and Accudose

Requirements

• Active RN license, ND or Compact
• 2+ years of Level IV NICU experience required
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Must be able to administer medications through PICC lines
• Experience with neonatal assessments and care for IVs, umbilical lines, CPAP, nasal cannula, oral/IV medications, OG/NG feedings, and G-tubes
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred
• Must be willing and able to float to PICU and PEDS units

Additional Information

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neonates including assessment, diagnosis, care planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Assist with procedures including intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, IV starts, and admissions
• Work closely with the NICU care team
• Unit-specific orientation includes Epic (OneChart) training and 2 days paired with a buddy to learn unit norms and infant acuity assessment
• Child-friendly scrubs required with role-specific colored pants
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates living 60 to 80 miles from the facility are considered local and receive a reduced pay rate
