Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift Options: Days or nights; day shift hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• NICU Setting: 31-bed Level III NICU with typical 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios
• Charting and Medication Systems: EPIC and Pyxis
• Floating: May float to age-appropriate Pediatric or PICU assignments
• Orientation: Eight-hour shifts held Monday through Friday during week one and Monday through Tuesday during week two; attendance is mandatory for all seven orientation days

NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• At least 2 years of recent Level III NICU nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Strong neonatal assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced acute-care setting
• Willingness to float to age-appropriate Pediatric or PICU patients as needed

Travel NICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
• Perform ongoing neonatal assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and therapies safely using established NICU protocols
• Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, nutritional needs, and developmental progress
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate and support families throughout the neonatal care experience
• Accurately document patient care and clinical outcomes in EPIC
• Maintain a safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants and families
• Adapt to floating assignments involving age-appropriate Pediatric or PICU patients when required
