Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Apple Valley, CA 92307

Start Date: November 3, 2026

Location: Apple Valley, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30). Weekend coverage required, averaging every other weekend, though may exceed to accommodate unit needs. Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.

  • Level III NICU with 14 beds serving approximately 190 births per month
  • Patient ratios staffed by acuity, up to 1:3 depending on patient needs
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
  • Epic charting system with free parking available
  • 212-bed acute care hospital serving a large, diverse community
  • May float to Mother/Baby unit for babies; full float if couplet experience available

Requirements:

  • Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 year in NICU specialty
  • Level III NICU experience required (hard requirement)
  • Current certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (or NRP with willingness to obtain Advanced before start), PALS
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Patient ratio experience with 2-3 patients
  • Proficiency in critical NICU skills including central line management, ventilator management, administration of blood products, PICC line management, IV vasopressors, and high-frequency ventilation
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

All time-off requests must be submitted at time of application and are subject to facility approval. Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
