Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Lubbock, TX 79410

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period. Contract duration of 26 weeks (182 days) with potential for extension.

Highlights:

• Work in a Level IV NICU at a 181-bed children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-4 providing quality patient care
• Daily census of approximately 35 patients in a 43-bed unit
• Self-scheduling model with flexible weekend coverage options

• Opportunity for contract extensions beyond 13 weeks for interested candidates

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III or Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 2-4 patients
• Proficiency in advanced NICU skills including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide administration, UAC/UVC management, therapeutic hypothermia, and care of neonates as young as 29 weeks gestation
• Willingness to float to Pediatrics, PICU, or Pediatric ED as needed
• Commitment to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
