Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Lubbock, TX 79410

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period. Contract duration of 26 weeks with potential for extension.

• Work in a Level IV NICU at a 181-bed children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Manage patient ratios of 1:2-4 with a daily census of approximately 35 patients in a 43-bed unit
• Self-scheduling flexibility with variable weekend coverage options
• Comprehensive orientation with 12 hours of onboarding support

• Opportunity for contracts longer than 13 weeks for qualified candidates

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact license accepted and must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III NICU experience strongly preferred for this Level IV unit
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with advanced NICU skills including high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide administration, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, and care of neonates as young as 29 weeks gestation
• Willingness to float between pediatric units (Pediatrics, PICU, Pediatric ED) as needed
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
