- Shifts Per Week: 4
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,850–$1,950
- Setting: Level III/IV NICU
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Intermittent weekend coverage required
- Floating: May float to nearby sister units as needed
- Location: Seattle, WA 98122 — a vibrant urban location with access to parks, restaurants, coffee shops, and the waterfront
NICU RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of NICU RN experience required
- Level III NICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience is highly valued
- Active compact or Washington state RN license in hand at submission
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Ability to care for neonates as young as 23–24 weeks gestation
- Comfortable floating between affiliated campuses and assigned areas as needed
- References required prior to start
- Willingness to work 3 of the 5 major holidays during the contract
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants in a NICU setting
- Manage advanced neonatal interventions, including CPAP/BiPAP, high-frequency ventilation, oscillators, and ventilators
- Administer blood and blood products safely and accurately
- Monitor and care for infants with PICC lines, central lines, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps
- Support cardioversion/defibrillation and therapeutic cooling/warming protocols as indicated
- Participate in the care of infants undergoing neonatal surgery and high-risk deliveries
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support family-centered care
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established unit policies and protocols
- Adapt to unit needs, including occasional floating and sitter assignments when required
