Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring 2 years of NICU experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Level III/IV NICU setting within a children's hospital
• 13-week assignment with day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
• Cares for neonates across a range of gestational ages, including <24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and >34 weeks
• May float to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS, and rarely ED
• May float to BPD NICU, which involves frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement due to extended lengths of stay
• May float to other campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required, license must be in hand
• BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience and 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, respiratory distress syndrome, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Experience with neonatal abstinence syndrome, seizure disorders, and therapeutic hypothermia preferred
• Experience with ECMO, VP shunts, ICP monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
• 2 professional references required at time of consideration, at least one from a manager or supervisor

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management for neonatal patients
• Floating to other units and campuses is a standard expectation for this assignment
• Two-part interview process: initial screening with float pool leader, followed by potential second interview with NICU unit manager
• Previous perm employees of this health system must wait at least 2 years before eligibility for a travel assignment
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 60-mile radius rule applies
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
