Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level III/IV NICU RN for a demanding neonatal intensive care assignment requiring frequent floating and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Level IV Neonatal ICU setting within a children's hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Cares for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
• Uses Epic EMR
• Float requirement to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, medical-surgical units, and rarely the ED
• Float requirement to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU with average length of stay of 2-3 years, requiring comfort with frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement
• Float requirement to additional campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH State or Compact) required in hand
• BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required, including at least 1 year of Level IV NICU experience
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with high-acuity respiratory support including ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, nitric oxide, and tracheostomy care
• Experience managing neonatal conditions such as NEC, sepsis, seizure disorders, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Skilled in thermoregulation and attending high-risk deliveries
• Two professional references required at time of consideration, at least one from a manager or supervisor

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates including medication administration, respiratory support, and post-surgical care
• Support high-risk deliveries and manage complex neonatal conditions requiring specialized interventions
• Two-part interview process including an initial screening with the Float Pool Leader followed by a possible second interview with the NICU unit manager
• Floating to multiple units and campuses is a significant and consistent expectation for this role
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the last 2 years
• No local candidates permitted within a 60-mile radius
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
