Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a medical facility in Plano. This role involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients in a busy unit with an emphasis on teamwork and adherence to unit protocols. The position requires working day shifts for a duration of approximately three months, with a schedule of 12-hour shifts and a minimum of 36 hours per week.

  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, valid NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, Level II-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, 2 years of experience, location in the specified city
  • Preferred Qualifications: Level IV NICU experience, familiarity with equipment such as High-Frequency Oscillators (HFOV), central lines, conventional vents, CPAP, NIPPV, ostomy care, EMR systems including CPN and Meditech; experience with procedures like surgery (except heads/hearts), respiratory support, and micro-premie care
  • Additional Information: Unit staffing includes 1 charge RN and multiple staff nurses on both day and night shifts, with patient ratios typically ranging from 1:1 to 1:4. The unit has a 41-bed capacity, and the team is team-oriented. The position involves adherence to unit dress code requiring royal blue scrubs and following unit policies. Weekend shifts (4 every 4 weeks) are required; no on-call duties are scheduled.
