Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring BLS, ACLS, and high-acuity Level 1 trauma center experience.

Details

Works in a 10-bed admission unit caring for general medical and surgical patients awaiting surgery
Rapid admission unit with faster patient turnover than a typical med/surg unit
Patient ratio of 5:1 for Med/Surg RN
Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
No on-call responsibilities
Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Requirements

Active GA or compact RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty
Experience in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and high-volume cases
Proven success managing critical, fast-paced situations in high-pressure environments
Experience in high-volume hospitals with diverse and severe cases required; experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals not considered
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Additional Information

Care for admission-unit patients with rapid turnover requiring independent clinical judgment
Mandatory holiday coverage: must work either Thanksgiving Day or the day after, plus either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
Block scheduling is generally not approved by the unit
Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel rate
