Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a fast-paced admission unit requiring BLS, ACLS, and at least 2 years of specialty experience in a high-acuity trauma environment.

Details

10-bed general medical and surgical admission unit for patients awaiting surgery
Rapid admission unit with faster patient turnover than a typical med/surg unit
Patient ratio of 5:1 for Med/Surg RNs
Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
Block scheduling is generally not approved

Requirements

Active RN license (GA or compact) required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg-Telemetry specialty
Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospitals required
Must have proven success managing critical, fast-paced situations in large-scale trauma environments
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently required

Additional Information

Work in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
Care for general medical and surgical patients within a rapid turnover admission unit
Mandatory holiday coverage: Thanksgiving Day or the day after, plus either Christmas Eve/Day or New Year's Eve/Day
Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
