• Unit: 25-bed neurosurgery general care unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, Monday through Friday with weekend rotation and holidays as needed
• Hours per Week: 36
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Patient Ratio: 4:1 days, nights, and weekends
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care Med/Surg Tele or telemetry nursing experience within the last 3 years
• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a compact state
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Epic charting experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Successful completion of a telemetry exam prior to start
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and float as needed
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care for neuro patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Monitor telemetry and accurately interpret dysrhythmias
• Care for patients recovering from spine surgeries, craniotomies, brain tumors, and related neurological conditions
• Support patients with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, trauma, and spinal fractures
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team including therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response resources
• Deliver patient- and family-centered care in a team-oriented inpatient setting
• Float as needed based on unit and patient care needs
• Maintain strong clinical documentation and use Epic efficiently for charting
• Complete all required pre-start compliance and testing requirements
