Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Epic charting experience required
• Telemetry exam required prior to start
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient setting
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced med-surg telemetry environment
• Willingness to float as needed within the hospital

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients with neurological and post-surgical needs
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and other ordered treatments accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support services to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Care for patients recovering from spine surgery, craniotomy, brain tumor procedures, stroke, MS, ALS, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and traumatic injuries
• Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, and related bedside nursing skills as needed
• Educate patients and families while promoting safety, comfort, and recovery
• Float as assigned to support unit and patient care needs across the healthcare facility
