• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Shift Length: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Shift Schedule: Days and nights available, every other weekend rotation, holidays as needed
• Orientation: 20 hours
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Unit Environment: 28-bed acute care medical unit with a daily census of 28-29
• Float Requirement: May float as needed to similar units
• Location: Madison, Wisconsin 53792

Job Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification from AHA only
• At least 2 years of acute care Med/Surg Tele or telemetry nursing experience within the last 3 years
• Previous travel RN experience required
• Epic EHR experience required
• Ability to pass telemetry testing prior to start
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, central line care, and insulin protocols preferred
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts and every other weekend
• Willingness to support a collaborative, high-acuity medical-surgical nursing team

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage therapies, including IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips as ordered
• Provide care related to blood product administration, oxygen therapy, and peripheral and central line management
• Use clinical judgment to identify telemetry changes and activate rapid response or code resources when needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to support safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
• Adapt to a fast-paced academic hospital environment while supporting quality outcomes and a positive team culture
