• Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
• Setting: Adult Medical-Surgical / Acute Care

• Duration: 15 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Recent Med/Surg nursing or acute care nursing experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Experience with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• EPIC experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred; strong Level I trauma experience may be considered in place of travel experience
• Ability to work in a team-based hospital environment and float to comparable units as needed
• Professional appearance in line with unit standards

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in an acute care setting
• Care for patients with conditions such as sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, respiratory failure, kidney failure, anemia, and behavioral health needs
• Monitor and support patients requiring central line care, tracheostomy management, chest tube care, and respiratory support such as Bipap/Cpap
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe patient flow
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Float to similar acute care areas as needed based on unit needs
