- Orientation: 3 days with a preceptor
- Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend
- Holiday Commitment: Every other holiday
- Floating: May float to other general med units as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- At least 1 year of recent acute care, med-surg, or Medical-Surgical Nursing experience
- Strong general medical-surgical background preferred
- Nephrology or urology experience is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively, stay dependable, and bring a positive attitude to the team
- Comfortable with bedside report, patient rounding, and interdisciplinary communication
- Must follow unit standards for professional appearance and infection prevention practices
- Must be willing to complete all required compliance items prior to start
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients in an acute care environment
- Monitor patient conditions, complete assessments, and respond appropriately to changes in status
- Deliver safe, compassionate care to patients with a variety of medical and post-operative needs
- Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care technicians, and the broader care team to support daily patient flow
- Use EPIC to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately
- Support bedside report, patient rounding, and efficient communication across shifts
- Assist with float assignments to general med units when needed
- Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while helping support safe staffing and excellent patient outcomes
