Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring 2+ years of Neuro ICU or comprehensive stroke center experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Fast-paced Neuro ICU treating neurological diseases and disorders including seizures and strokes within a comprehensive stroke center
• Also cares for overflow ICU patients from Medical Surgical ICU and Heart and Vascular ICU
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• 13- or 18-week contract available
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Traveler will be first to float at facility's discretion, including to Main Campus (Dayton), South Campus (Centerville), and North Campus (Englewood)
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS with ability to read and interpret strips
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU and/or comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care preferred
• Experience with traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury care preferred
• No candidates with past license disciplinary action will be accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to patients with complex neurological conditions in a comprehensive stroke center
• Floating assigned based on skill set and facility census with no restrictions
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission
• Previous Premier Health Partners perm/PRN employees or agency staff not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler, pending rehire approval
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
