Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for an intermediate care unit requiring MA RN licensure and experience with EVDs, arterial lines, and lumbar drains.

Details

  • Work in a Neuro Intermediate Care Unit with 18 intermediate beds and 18 general neuroscience beds
  • Patient population includes arterial lines, EVDs, lumbar drains, post-op day zero neuro cases, acute thrombectomies, TPA administration, and some vasoactive infusions
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • May float from the Neuro IMCU to the Neuro ICU floor
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 3+ years of related work experience required
  • Required experience with EVDs, lumbar drains, and arterial lines
  • Basic proficiency navigating web-based applications required
  • Flu vaccination documentation required during flu season

Additional Information

  • Provide intermediate-level neuro nursing care including monitoring of arterial lines, EVDs, and lumbar drains
  • Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
  • COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates will not be accepted
  • Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a six-month break before returning
  • All RTO requests must be submitted for consideration at time of application
