Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel nursing contract in a high-acuity Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in Columbus, Ohio. Provide expert critical care for adult patients while working consistent night shifts, a 2:1 patient ratio, and a supportive interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

MICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) experience in an ICU or MICU setting
• Current Registered Nurse license valid for practice in Ohio or a valid compact nursing license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Strong recent experience with critical care assessment, documentation, and electronic charting
• Two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal nursing leader
• Ability to complete required Ohio fingerprinting and credentialing steps promptly
• Comfort working night shifts, alternating weekends, and floating when operational needs require
• Navy blue scrubs

Travel ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a high-acuity MICU
• Manage ventilated patients and provide BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula support
• Titrate cardiac, vasoactive, insulin, sedation, and neuromuscular-blockade infusions according to clinical protocols
• Monitor and care for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, COVID-related complications, liver failure, renal failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, multisystem organ failure, and post-cardiac-arrest conditions
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, ports, lumbar drains, and other critical-care access devices
• Administer blood products and perform ongoing assessments for transfusion reactions
• Support continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) using NxStage equipment and provide care for patients with acute or chronic renal failure
• Interpret dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, interpret arterial blood gases, and promptly recognize clinical deterioration
• Provide stroke, neurotrauma, post-neurosurgical, ICP-monitoring, hypothermia-protocol, and spinal-cord-injury care as indicated
• Maintain infection-prevention and isolation precautions while collaborating with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, rapid response, radiology, rehabilitation, social services, and other care partners
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
