MICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing
• Location: Columbus, Ohio

• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 15, 2027
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Patient Population: Adult medical ICU patients
• Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: Epic electronic medical record
• Floating: May be required to support other appropriate units as needed
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

MICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent ICU or Medical Intensive Care Unit registered nursing experience
• Active compact RN license or Ohio RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Recent experience with electronic medical record charting; Epic experience preferred
• Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
• Availability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly after accepting the assignment
• Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered

MICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adults experiencing respiratory failure, sepsis, renal or liver failure, multisystem organ failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, stroke, and post-cardiac-arrest conditions
• Manage ventilated patients and provide BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula therapy
• Titrate cardiac, vasoactive, insulin, sedation, and neuromuscular-blockade infusions according to clinical protocols
• Care for patients receiving continuous renal replacement therapy, including NxStage CRRT
• Monitor and manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, lumbar drains, and intracranial pressure monitoring when applicable
• Interpret arterial blood gases, dysrhythmias, and 12-lead EKGs, responding promptly to changes in patient status
• Administer blood products, procedural sedation, emergency medications, and other critical-care therapies
• Provide stroke, neuro, traumatic brain injury, post-neurosurgical, spinal cord injury, and hypothermia-protocol care
• Maintain isolation precautions, infection-prevention practices, wound care, and safe management of invasive equipment
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV services, rehabilitation, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams to coordinate patient care
