Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU/Intermediate Care position requiring MA RN licensure and specialized neuro critical care skills.

Details

  • Neuro Intermediate Care Unit with 18 intermediate beds and 18 general neuroscience beds
  • Patient population includes arterial lines, EVDs, lumbar drains, post-op day zero neuro cases, acute thrombectomies, TPA administration, and vasoactive infusions
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • May float from Neuro IMCU to the Neuro ICU floor
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • CPR-AHA certification required
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 3+ years of related RN work experience required
  • Experience with EVDs, lumbar drains, and arterial lines required
  • Basic proficiency navigating web-based applications required

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to neuro intermediate and ICU patients including managing invasive lines and post-surgical neuro cases
  • Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
  • Required vaccinations include COVID (plus booster) and flu, with medical exemptions allowed
  • Local candidates not accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break before returning
  • All RTO requests must be submitted for consideration in advance
