Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring prior travel and large hospital experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
• Team nursing model with 1:12 overall ratio, splitting caseloads between 2 RNs, an LPN, and a Med Nurse for an effective 1:6/7 ratio
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call and weekend coverage required as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered upon discussion during interview
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN state or compact) required, NLC compliant, no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required, 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• ADN accepted for this position
• Required certifications: BLS; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Epic and Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Vaccination status must be disclosed

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a team nursing model on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Level I Trauma Center environment with short-term acute care focus
• Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall during the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall during the assignment, must work at least 1
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 5+ years of specialty experience
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning
• Local candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application, as RTO submitted after an offer will not be honored
