Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week assignment requiring WI or compact RN license and 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty within the last 3 years.

Details

  • Med/Surg Tele unit within an academic teaching hospital
  • 13-week assignment
  • Day shift (0700-1930) or Night shift (1900-0730), 3x12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed
  • Floating required as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in Med/Surg Tele within the last 3 years
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care/management, peripheral line care/management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols and titration, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management
  • Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start, with strict passing criteria on adult and pediatric rhythm identification
  • References not required for submission

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
  • Located at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Must complete a cardiac interpretation review course certificate if a second telemetry exam attempt is failed before a third attempt is allowed
  • Onsite parking requires a permit through university transportation, though other transportation options are available
