Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Med/Surg/Tele unit within the last 3 years
• Epic EMR experience required, within the past 12 months preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall passing score
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oral suctioning
• Experience administering medications such as heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have 3 years of recent inpatient med/surg/tele experience
