Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring recent acute care experience and Epic proficiency at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital environment
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• 4x12 schedules also accepted
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric dysrhythmia identification with strict passing criteria
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and suctioning
• Experience with wound care, ostomy management, and feeding tube care
• Experience managing IV insulin protocols, PCA, and heparin administration
• Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to med/surg and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when needed
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
• Located at a Magnet®-designated facility ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital and recognized as a leading teaching institution and referral center
