Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of recent acute care experience and current Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, 3x per week
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI RN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in med/surg specialty
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including rhythm interpretation and heart block assessment
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols
• Skills in wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE use
• Experience with GI, GU/renal, and endocrine/metabolic patient care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a med/surg and telemetry patient population, including post-surgical, orthopedic, and neurological cases
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers with 3+ years of recent inpatient med/surg experience will be considered
• Free onsite parking available
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Telemetry exam requires passing criteria including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no more than one incorrect answer on 3rd degree heart block questions
• Up to three testing attempts allowed, with a cardiac interpretation course required after a failed second attempt
