Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 3+ years of recent Heme/ONC/BMT experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit at a Level I trauma teaching hospital
• 1:3/4 patient ratio
• Day/evening 12-hour shifts, 0700-1930, with every other weekend required
• 4x12 schedules will also be accepted
• Holidays required on a rotating basis
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR used and experience required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Chemotherapy certification required (ONS/ONCC)
• 3+ years of recent Heme/ONC/BMT experience required
• Level I trauma or similar size hospital experience required
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including strict lethal rhythm identification criteria
• All references must be removed from consideration materials

Additional Information

• Care for patients undergoing chemotherapy, biotherapy, and bone marrow transplant procedures
• Manage oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
• Provide IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care
• Deliver psychosocial support including patient/family education and symptom management
• Administer medications including antiemetics, antitumor agents, and hormonal therapies
• Care for patients with a wide range of cancer diagnoses including leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumors
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have 3+ years of recent Heme/ONC/BMT experience
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
