Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring a VA or compact RN license and 1:7 patient ratio experience.

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30-07:00)
• 36/36 schedule with rotating weekends and holidays
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA certification is the only accepted form)
• AHA ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Contract RN team members are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning modules
• EKG testing must be completed within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts allowed
• Drug testing must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start date
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
• Must reside 100 miles or more from the facility's service area, no local candidates accepted
• Only one submission allowed per candidate within the health system
