Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on night shift, requiring an active VA or compact RN license and 1 year of experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
• 36/36 rotating schedule with rotating weekends and holidays
• No call requirements
• Floating required
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and PPE use

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required, AHA ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing
• Drug test required within 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide clinical nursing care within the Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Contract RN team members expected to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning modules
• Orientation modules average 4-5 hours and are recorded via electronic transcripts
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without financial penalty due to census decrease
• Must reside 100+ miles from the hospital's service area, no local candidates accepted
