Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and current BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend or every weekend required
• Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set may be required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required, compact license must be in hand at submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry required
• Competency in respiratory care including ABG interpretation, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with wound care, insulin drip titration, and renal/dialysis patient management
• Must provide full SSN and DOB for compliance purposes
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Care for patients with cardiac, neurological, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and renal conditions
• Provide monitoring and intervention for dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
• Scrub color is any color for this unit
• No parking fee at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO changes may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
