Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• 27-bed General Medicine/Telemetry unit caring for patients with respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious disease, and renal conditions
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Can offer 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend required, with 2 of 3 winter holidays required
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Typical patient ratio of 1:5
• Must adhere to facility float policy and float within scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Clinical skills required in respiratory care (chest tubes, tracheostomy management), cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, PCA and Heparin protocols, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocol/titration
• Renal failure experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a range of medical-surgical and telemetry conditions
• Complete facility-specific orientation modules (up to 16 non-billable hours) during orientation
• Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract; no additional RTO approved after offer acceptance
• Time off around Christmas cannot be accommodated
• Any vacation plans between sign date and start date must be disclosed prior to submission
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
• Former permanent staff or internal travelers must have at least 1 year separation and leadership approval before returning
