Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring BLS certification and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit in an academic medical center setting
• Patient population includes respiratory illness, renal disease, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days/weekends and 1:5 on nights
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required
• Must adhere to facility's float policy
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted, must be in-hand by Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• 1:5 patient ratio experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Two professional references required
• Nursys license verification required with submission

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include respiratory care, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), tracheostomy care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, heparin protocols, PCA, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols and titration, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
• Must float within scope of practice as required by facility policy
• Previous employment as permanent staff or internal/external traveler requires 1-year separation and leadership approval, with a maximum of 365 total assignment days for external travelers
• Travelers who reach 365 total assignment days are not eligible to return
• No radius restriction applies to this unit
• Specialty-specific orientation modules required, completed during onboarding
