Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring Epic experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• 12-bed Med/Surg Tele unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Patient population includes respiratory illness, renal disease, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Floating required within scope of practice per facility policy
• 13-week contract length

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• 1+ year of relevant RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with respiratory care, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), tracheostomy management, heparin protocols, PCA, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, wound care/wound vac, and IV insulin protocols including drip titration
• Two professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide bedside nursing care for Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring, wound care, and insulin management
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules during onboarding
• Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract; no time off approved around Christmas
• Previous UVA Health permanent staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
• First-time travelers considered for this role
• No radius restriction for this unit
