Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Travel Nursing Contract in Maryville, TN

Experienced travel RNs can join a collaborative adult medical-surgical telemetry team for a 13-week night-shift nursing assignment in Maryville, Tennessee. This on-site travel nurse job offers the opportunity to care for adult and geriatric patients in a 30-bed orthopedic surgery unit while building valuable experience in telemetry monitoring, postoperative care, and complex medical-surgical nursing. Travel Nursing Job Details

Med-Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• Active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible multistate license
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• At least 1 year of hands-on EPIC electronic medical record experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in rotating weekend coverage
• Annual flu vaccination required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and previous charge nurse experience preferred

Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and communicate concerns promptly
• Complete patient assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate outcomes
• Care for patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, total joint replacements, and other surgical interventions
• Perform and manage peripheral IVs, PICC lines, central-line blood draws, ports, feeding tubes, and ostomies
• Administer blood products and provide care for patients with complex medical and postoperative needs
• Document accurately in EPIC and use Omnicell medication-dispensing technology
• Collaborate with physicians, therapy services, respiratory care, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Float to like units when needed and perform only duties supported by verified competencies
