Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel Registered Nurse contract
• Location: Maryville, Tennessee
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: February 1, 2027
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710-$1,800
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical Night Shift Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Charting System: Epic electronic medical record
• Float Expectation: Float to other qualified units or campuses as needed

Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• At least 1 year of Epic experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing a 1:6 patient assignment
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and float when needed
• Strong telemetry monitoring, patient assessment, prioritization, and patient education skills

Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Monitor and care for patients with stroke or TIA, seizures, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis needs, acute kidney failure, post-cardiac catheterization status, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, ports, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, feeding tubes, colostomies, and ileostomies
• Perform or assist with continuous bladder irrigation, peritoneal dialysis care, oxygen therapy, non-invasive airway management, and high-flow nasal cannula support
• Administer blood products, insulin, heparin, and non-titrated cardiac drips according to established protocols
• Use rapid response and code team resources to support timely intervention
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic while promoting patient safety, effective communication, and an exceptional patient experience
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float to qualified areas based on patient census and staffing needs
