Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work on a newly established Med/Surg Tele unit currently staffed with 18 beds
  • Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Bedside monitors capable of telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse ox monitoring
  • Every other weekend work required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • 24/7 house supervisor coverage available

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
  • Experience with telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Valid driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care on a growing Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care hospital
  • Unit leadership available by phone during off-shift hours
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on final approval
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted within 60 miles, though non-local candidates are prioritized
  • May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
