Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring strong telemetry experience and a 1:6 patient ratio background in a high-acuity mixed unit.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital with 210 staffed beds
• High acuity mixed unit combining Med/Surg Tele, Cardiac Tele, and PCU patient populations
• Day shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required within scope
• Uses Meditech charting system
• Mandatory attendance for 5 shifts during clinical orientation week (36-40 hours)

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required (1:5 ratio experience considered if clearly documented)
• Rapid Response team experience required
• Total joint replacement experience required
• Strong telemetry experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• No previous travel experience required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across a high-acuity mixed unit including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and rapid response situations
• Care for patients with cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and general medical-surgical needs
• Scrub color is unrestricted
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility
• No RTO permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days, with 2 weeks added to the assignment if requested
• No block scheduling accommodations available
• Holiday coverage required based on number of holidays falling within the assignment (1-2 holidays requires 1 evening and 1 holiday shift; 3 holidays requires 1 evening and 2 holiday shifts)
• Candidates should plan for at least 4 hours to complete required modules prior to start date
