Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-acuity MS/Tele position requiring strong telemetry experience, charge RN capability, and a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience.
Details
- High-acuity mixed Med/Surg Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, and PCU unit in an acute care hospital with 210 staffed beds
- Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
- 13-week contract
- Patient ratio of 1:6 (1:5 ratio experience may be considered if clearly documented)
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Every other weekend required
- Meditech EMR; experience required
- No block scheduling available
- Community hospital experience preferred
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS (or willingness to obtain before start date)
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele or high-acuity telemetry nursing experience
- Strong telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Rapid Response team experience required
- Total joint replacement experience required
- 1:6 patient ratio experience required
- Previous charge RN experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with cardiac drip management (non-titrating) and heparin protocols
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Charge RN duties may be assigned on an as-needed basis
- Orientation requires availability for a mandatory clinical week of approximately 4–5 shifts (36–40 hours)
- Pre-start online modules are required and may take up to 8–10 hours to complete
- Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 holidays fall within the assignment, traveler must work 1 holiday eve and 1 holiday; if 3 holidays fall within the assignment, traveler must work 1 eve and 2 holidays
- No RTO permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
- Scrubs: any color accepted
