Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring prior travel nursing experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• MS/Tele unit with 36 beds
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Epic charting system used
• Floating required to units of equal acuity

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care

Additional Information

• Care for patients with cardiac telemetry, neurological, GI, and renal conditions
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be contracted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Onboarding modules completed onsite during orientation, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
