American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with prior travel experience and a TX or compact license for a night shift position in a 36-bed unit with 1:6 patient ratios.

Details

  • Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • 36 total rooms/beds
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • Float required to units of equal acuity
  • Epic charting system used

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP and nasal cannula oxygen administration
  • Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with Heparin protocols and cardiac drip management (no titration)
  • Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE skills

Additional Information

  • Provide care for cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, neurological, and CVA patient populations
  • Support rapid response and code team activations as needed
  • Manage feeding tubes, surgical drains, and renal/dialysis patients as part of care
  • Complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Complete onsite orientation modules (approximately 4-6 hours for RNs)
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
