Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring VA or compact RN license and Med/Surg-Tele experience.

Details

Float within Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and Orthopedics units, including ortho trauma and total joint replacement cases
Patient ratio of 1:6
Night shift, three 12-hour shifts weekly (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Every other weekend required
Floating may be requested based on facility needs
Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

Active VA RN license or compact license in hand at time of consideration
BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
ACLS, BLS, and PALS must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Specialty experience within the last year required
NIH Stroke Scale and stroke education required
Skilled in neurological/psychiatric care, CVA management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Ortho trauma and total joint replacement experience preferred

Additional Information

Provide nursing care across Med/Surg, Tele, and Orthopedic patient populations as part of a float pool team
Local candidates accepted at the same base rate
Prior permanent employees must have a 6-month gap before returning as travelers
Keep requested time off to a minimum, ideally none, with a maximum of 7 days total during the assignment
Candidates cannot work both travel and per diem contracts at this facility simultaneously
