Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Olympia, Washington

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,860
- Location: Olympia, Washington
- Healthcare Setting: On-site short-term acute care; Med/Surg Tele float assignment
- Start Date: October 20, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks, through January 19, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4–6, depending on unit acuity
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Float Requirement: May float among medical-surgical, telemetry, emergency department observation, and nearby affiliated units according to organizational needs
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or a compact state; compact license must be in hand at submission
- At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience, including medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
- Previous charge nurse experience is required
- Recent clinical experience in the United States is required
- Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic charting experience
- Strong adaptability and willingness to float between units and patient populations
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients and manage assignments with varying acuity
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in medical-surgical, telemetry, and emergency department observation areas
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
- Monitor telemetry, recognize changes in patient condition, and appropriately respond to cardiac dysrhythmias
- Administer medications and treatments while following established clinical and patient safety protocols
- Float to assigned units to support staffing and patient-care needs
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory services, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Serve in charge nurse functions when assigned, including staffing coordination, bed flow, and general unit oversight
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
- Promote infection prevention, isolation precautions, patient education, and discharge readiness
