Experienced Registered Nurse needed for a high-volume Mother/Baby travel nursing assignment in Seattle’s First Hill area. This Seattle healthcare job is ideal for a postpartum RN who excels in high-acuity couplet care, supports high-risk obstetric patients, and thrives in a fast-paced urban hospital setting.

  • Schedule Options: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

  • Float Requirement: May include nearby postpartum and labor & delivery recovery areas

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Compact license must be in hand at submission, if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in postpartum, Mother/Baby, or high-acuity couplet care
  • First-time travelers may be considered with at least 2 years of relevant RN experience
  • BLS and NRP required
  • Epic experience required
  • Strong experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients
  • Experience managing up to 4 couplets and census surges preferred
  • Experience with magnesium therapy, Pitocin, postpartum hemorrhage, Foley care, and substance withdrawal care
  • Ability to work required holiday coverage and remain flexible with scheduling

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate care to postpartum patients and newborns in a busy Mother/Baby unit
  • Monitor maternal recovery following delivery and support newborn transition and bonding
  • Assess and manage high-risk obstetric patients with confidence and clinical precision
  • Administer and monitor medications and therapies such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
  • Recognize and respond to postpartum hemorrhage and other urgent maternal conditions
  • Deliver patient education on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge readiness
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
  • Float as needed to nearby postpartum or recovery units while maintaining excellent care standards
