  • Floating: Required to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery areas as needed
  • Charting System: Epic required
  • Certifications: BLS and NRP required

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or high-acuity postpartum RN experience required
  • Current experience in postpartum nursing, couplet care, or women’s health strongly preferred
  • First-time travelers may be considered with the required clinical experience
  • Strong background in high-risk obstetric and postpartum patient care
  • Epic electronic medical record experience required
  • Ability to care for up to 4 couplets when needed
  • Experience with magnesium therapy, Pitocin, Foley management, postpartum hemorrhage, and substance withdrawal support
  • JADA experience preferred
  • Active compact or state RN license in hand at submission
  • Must be willing to work requested holiday coverage and follow assignment scheduling expectations

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate patient care to postpartum mothers and newborns in a high-volume Mother/Baby unit
  • Monitor maternal and newborn recovery following delivery and support family-centered care
  • Manage high-risk postpartum care needs, including complex recovery cases and obstetric complications
  • Administer and monitor medications and therapies such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
  • Assess and intervene for postpartum hemorrhage and other maternal complications
  • Support care for up to 4 couplets during census surges
  • Document accurately in Epic and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Float to designated sister units or nearby postpartum areas as needed
