  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830 - $1,930
  • Unit Setting: Postpartum / Mother-Baby / Couplet Care
  • Location: Seattle, WA 98122 — a lively, centrally located area with easy access to Seattle’s restaurants, arts, parks, and waterfront attractions
  • Float Requirement: May be asked to float to nearby postpartum units and labor & delivery recovery as needed

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or high-acuity postpartum nursing experience
  • Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients
  • Epic experience required
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications
  • Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy
  • Ability to manage up to 4 couplets in a high-census environment
  • Experience with postpartum hemorrhage, Pitocin, Foley management, and substance withdrawal preferred
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to float between nearby units/facilities as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate postpartum care to mothers and newborns
  • Assess and monitor maternal recovery following delivery
  • Support couplet care and maintain quality care standards in a busy, high-volume Mother/Baby unit
  • Administer and monitor medications and therapies such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
  • Recognize and respond to postpartum complications, including hemorrhage
  • Educate and support patients and families throughout the postpartum stay
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes
  • Document accurately and efficiently in Epic
  • Adapt to census surges and maintain calm, reliable clinical support during busy shifts
