Join a dynamic and high-acuity medical intensive care unit (MICU) team in New Haven, CT, with WCS Healthcare Partners. This role offers the opportunity to work in a Level I Trauma Center, providing critical care to patients with complex medical conditions. With a supportive team and state-of-the-art facilities, this position is ideal for experienced RNs looking to make a significant impact in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the MICU, managing high-acuity patients with conditions such as acute respiratory failure, sepsis, liver/renal failure, post-cardiac arrest, and GI bleed.
  • Manage arterial lines, central lines, and care for ventilated patients.
  • Administer continuous IV sedation and manage dysrhythmias.
  • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias.
  • Implement isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
  • Float to other units such as PCU and other ICUs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic charting system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
  • Experience with arterial line management, ventilated patient care, and central line management.
  • Ability to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
  • Strong skills in interpreting ABGs and dysrhythmias.
  • Willingness to work every other weekend and float to different units as needed.
