Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE), located in Madison, WI This acute care position involves providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care within a fast-paced medical unit that also offers specialty care to patients with infectious diseases as part of its Special Pathogens program. The role focuses on caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical diagnoses, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and safety protocols.
Job Details
- Location: Madison, WI
- Position Type: Travel Nurse
- Schedule: Rotating, 12-hour shifts, 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, with every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, BLS certification, completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years, and Epic electronic health record experience.
- Certifications: BLS required, accompanying RN license (Wisconsin or compact).
- Skills and Experience: Blood product administration, central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry, titration of insulin drips, use of rapid response and code teams.
- Additional Information: Previous charge experience, patient ratio experience, charting system experience required. Traveler must pass telemetry test prior to starting, with adult and pediatric exams requiring 80% passing score within two attempts. A telemetry interpretation review course certificate is required after two failed attempts before a third attempt or cancellation. Inpatient RN travelers must have two years of recent acute care experience in the specialty they are submitting for. Travelers are required to float as needed.

- Travel Requirements: Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility. Local candidates are not accepted.
